TV

Così come per il cinema, anche la televisione scopre presto Sherlock Holmes.

Già nel 1937 negli USA producono una riduzione de I Tre Garrideb, mentre in Gran Bretagna dovranno aspettare il 1951 per i primi film per la TV.

La forza dei personaggi e la lunghezza contenuta delle storie sono armi vincenti e ben presto vengono prodotte serie televisive che riprendono (alcune fedelmente, altre solo in parte) i racconti originali.

Memorabili sono le interpretazioni di Douglas Wilmer, Peter Cushing, Vasily Livanov, Jeremy Brett.
